Natural Tips on How to Get Gorgeous and Healthy Skin This Springtime

Updated: Jul 18, 2019

The temperatures are getting warmer, the snow is starting to melt and soon we will be experiencing spring again. Spring is a season of renewal, with new life, comes new beauty. Winter is a wonderful season as well, but it's known to wreak havoc on our skin. Dry, cracked and brittle skin are all common results of a long winter. Spring is an excellent time to rejuvenate your skin, bringing a new level of health, beauty and freshness. Healthy skin doesn't happen instantly, but here a couple of tricks that will help.

Exfoliate Your Skin

The human body sheds a tremendous amount of skin and these skin cells tend to accumulate during the winter months. Dead skin cells pile up and will make your skin appear dull and will limit the hydrating effects of your natural body cleansers and moisturizers. Most experts agree that you should use a natural body scrub about twice a week. Some people also enjoy dry-body brushing as an exfoliating option. Scrubbing should be done gently using circular motions before showering.

Keep Your Skin Moisturized

The cold temperatures and harsh winds of the winter months will leave your skin dry. Replenish your skin's moisture by using an organic skin moisturizer once or twice a day. We have a great selection of handmade natural moisturizers with a great selection of organic ingredients including chaga – rated as the world's most powerful plant-based antioxidant. Regularly using a thin coat of body cream or moisturizer to the skin is best on damp skin, particularly after a warm shower. Be sure to use moisturizer all over the body and its important not to forget areas such as the back of the hands or eyelids.

Eat Healthy and Naturally

You are what you eat. It's amazing how everything in the body is connected, and the food we use to fuel our body plays an important role in the health and general appearance of our skin. Study-after-study concludes that eating lots of fruits and vegetables will dramatically improve the appearance and feel of your skin. Drinking lots of water and regular exercise will also provide smoother skin. Cellulite and dimpled skin are common, but improving your diet will stimulate micro-circulation to the skin and help improve lymphatic drainage.

Keep Your Skin Clean With Natural Soaps Containing Essential Oils

Many of the commonly sold and best-known soap brands in the world are alkaline-based and dry out the skin, leaving it feeling tight and rough. It's estimated that it can take up to 24 hours for the skin to start releasing its natural oils again after they are depleted. It a vicious and unhealthy circle that many people are unknowingly participating in. That's why we've included various natural oils and butters in our handmade organic soaps including chaga infused olive oil, Shea Butter, coconut oil, castor oil and various other healthy ingredients. Our customers regularly tell us that the results are seen quickly.

Another important tip to keeping your skin healthy this spring to to replace your makeup. Over time, your makeup collects harmful bacteria and germs that can really harm the skin.

We're excited about the upcoming spring here at Adagio Naturals, and helping our customers achieve healthy and radiant skin after a long winter. We've got some exciting new natural skincare products coming soon, including our continued incorporation of chaga into our creams, soaps, makeup removers, lip balms and more.
